Frequently Asked Questions
-
1. What are Vinyl Sheet Piles?
-
2. How long have Vinyl Sheet Piles been on the market?Vinyl sheet piles were developed over 30 years ago in the USA. Since then, they have gained great popularity, especially in North America, Europe, and Asia.
-
3. What material are Vinyl Sheet Piles made of?Vinyl sheet piles are made from primarily recycled raw materials, specifically fresh PVC, undergoing only one processing cycle, ensuring ecological benefits and competitive pricing. Various additives and stabilizers are also used in production, enhancing the sheet piles’ strength, aesthetics, and UV resistance.
-
4. What technology is used to manufacture Vinyl Sheet Piles?Vinyl sheet piles are made using extrusion technology. Extrusion is pressing a hot plastic through a matrix that forms the profiles in the right shape. Then, the freshly pressed sheet piles are cooled down to maintain their shape and parameters.
-
5. Do Vinyl Sheet Piles have their standard lengths? No – our sheet piles are custom-made and cut to meet the customer’s needs and the project requirements. We are not limited by the length of a vinyl sheet pile but by the size of the available means of transportation. That is why the longest sheet piles we deliver usually range from 12 to 13 meters, but we may manufacture longer profiles.
-
6. How long does the order-manufacturing-delivery process take? The most common profiles in popular lengths are kept in stock for immediate availability. In other cases, the manufacturing process is quick, allowing orders to typically be fulfilled within two weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
7. What distinguishes this technology from other, more popular?High resistance to environmental and chemical factors. Its great advantage is the lack of corrosion, even in saltwater. Much lower price compared to steel sheet piles, and the material’s low weight means that the number of square meters loaded on the truck is several times higher than that of steel sheet piles. They have a low environmental impact due to a very low carbon footprint, as they are produced from recycled material. They can be produced in any color, so they are very aesthetic.
-
8. In what projects do we use Vinyl Sheet Piles?Vinyl sheet piles are ideal for hydraulic engineering applications, including flood protection, flood embankments, water retention, and the construction of small ports, marinas, and harbors. They are also effective in preventing environmental pollution by cutting off ground walls. In civil engineering, vinyl sheet piles retain structures, with or without anchoring, and protect shallow excavations.
-
9. How watertight are Vinyl Sheet Piles? In the basic version, without a gasket, the barrier made of vinyl sheet piles, depending on the soil type, reaches a hydraulic conductivity from k= 1∙ 10-6 to k= 1∙ 10-9 [m/s]. In the case of vinyl sheet piles with an integrated gasket, the hydraulic conductivity value may be very close to 0. We tested our sheet piles in an independent laboratory, and they were tight to a pressure of 2.0 bar, so 20 metres of the water column.
-
10. What equipment is needed in the Vinyl Sheet Pile installation? We use machinery like excavators, cranes, and piling rigs to install vinyl sheet piles with steel guides. The steel guide, known as a “mandrel,” is manufactured in our production plant and is designed to perfectly match our profiles. After installing a sheet pile, the guide is removed and reused for the next pile. A vibratory hammer with parameters suited to the sheet pile profile, ground conditions, and pile length is essential for each machine.
-
11. Vinyl sheet piles and microplastic, Is there a threat?Scientific studies have shown that the proportion of PVC as a microplastic in the samples tested was negligible compared to other polymers. Vinyl sheet piles are produced from raw material with very high oxidation resistance in the extrusion process. Our vinyl sheets are certified for use in potable water reservoirs.
-
12. Are Vinyl Sheet Piles harmful to drinking water?Vinyl sheet piles have a hygienic certificate issued by the National Institute of Public Health, which says they can be used even in water tanks for human consumption. They do not emit any hazardous ingredients into the water.
